About Ozark Garden Railway Society

What is O.G.R.S?

OGRS (Ozark Garden Railway Society) officially formed in September 1999, joining a growing number of garden railway clubs worldwide. Our goals are to promote all aspects of large scale garden railroading and enhance members enjoyment of the hobby. We meet the third Saturday of the month for sharing ideas, skills and friendships. By pooling our resources, the OGRS can provide a base of knowledge, experience and skills to encourage and assist members in their individual large scale garden railroading projects. You don't need a train to join OGRS. Many of our members are in the planning stages, gathering ideas and information before they start digging their right-of-way. Several members have operating layouts, many of which are on our annual Tour, this year on June 15 & 16. Some members run their large scale trains on indoor layouts.

Club Functions

Club functions include monthly meetings to pool resources and share ideas, workshops, and clinics to learn new skills, display areas to help promote the hobby to the public, and an annual Garden Railway Tour. Regular meetings are hosted by club members at their home, giving members a chance to enjoy the progress of each other's railways.
